One of the patterns that I've been studying for since 2023 is the correlation between the nervous system and the color level of our design (also known as variable).

I've discovered that there is a direct connection between congruence to our Determination + Environment and Perspective + Motivation and our nervous system.

After witnessing dozens of clients and myself through this lens I can say with great specificity that when we are in transference of our color and variables our nervous system is either in an hypo or hyper activated state.

I can also say, when we are in that state we will often make decisions based on our strategy and authority - thinking it is correct HOWEVER in nearly every circumstance the decision was incorrect.

Meaning that when we make decisions in the transference or not-self of our variables the decisions made during that time are not actually correct for us either. Meaning we are making decisions based on the transferred state vs the congruent state and when we come back to the congruent state we often later regret or backtrack the decision. And the sad truth is I have hundreds of examples this pattern.

As I continue to develop my synthesis around this….I want to share one easy way to tell if you are in transference through your environment variable. The environment variable is our External + Body = Surroundings.

The environment variable tells us what place nourishes our being. This supports us in living life in high definition.

This is the environment our body feels most regulated in aka safe. This is the place or the idea of that place that supports us in finding congruence and our optimal expression of ourselves.

In business, this is where you can hold the best space for clients, make good decision that your future self will thank you for, and grow and expand your business.

Now…one of the observations that I have developed work around is the environmental transference.

I first witnessed this in myself back in August 2022 when I severely injured my ankle and was processing some trauma around both this injury and previous ones that I found myself sitting in a cave like environment for months.

I continued to work and move my business forward but in hindsight I can now see many of the big business decisions I made during that time, while I was at an emotional neutral was from a place of keeping me safe, they were foundation, they were certain. Which are all themes of my transferred environment of Caves vs the elevated perspective of my Mountains.

Knowing this has changed the game for me and it is something I have personally been experimenting with and monitoring in myself and others.

I have found myself at various times in a cave like state or environment. Having this awareness supported me in ensuring I wasn't making any big decision during this time. It has been both wild to witness and see in both myself and in my clients who I have been tracking these same patterns in their own environments. And this shows up again and again.

Without further ado here is what to look for when your environment is in transference….

Also, caveat, caveat, caveat => Transference exists at all 4 color levels….AND I have also noticed when one color is off they are all off.

The thing to pay attention to here is this is the idea of that environment and the themes that go along with it…..

1. Caves Transfers to Mountains
2. Markets Transfers to Valleys
3. Kitchens Transfers to Shores
4. Mountains Transfers to Caves
5. Valleys Transfers to Markets
6. Shores Transfers to Kitchens

The other piece to pay attention to here as well is if your environment is a condition or a circumstance.

If you're a CONDITION person (caves/markets/kitchens), you need that 70-80% of the time to function.

If you're a CIRCUMSTANCE person (mountains/valleys/shores), you need it regularly but not constantly.

Environment Color Variable in Human Design

First Color Environment Variable = Caves (condition)

Optimal Expression - Safety, Security, Dark, One Entrance, Minimal, Primitive

First Color Variable Transference = Mountains

Transferred Expression = I need to gain a perspective, have more space. I can't breathe, I need to retreat. I should be expanding faster. I need something more elevated this is too basic. I am feeling very sensitive. I know this perspective doesn't have a foundation but it suits me right now.

Second Color Environment Variable = Markets (condition)

Optimal Expression - Curating, Selective, Detail oriented, Options, Comfortable

Second Color Variable Transference = Valleys

Transferred Expression = I need to feel more connected and have more intimacy. I'm not resourced enough therefor I can't move forward. I need more of an exchange. This doesn't sounds good to me because it isn't provided me with enough options. This forces me to be plugged in when I like a bit more discernment/freedom

Third Color Environment Variable = Kitchens (condition)

Optimal Expression - Creativity, Coalescing, Transformation, Stations, Action, Gathering together

Second Color Variable Transference = Shores

Transferred Expression = I am not sure I am committed to this or that. I don't want to get my hands dirty. It could be this and that. I'm going to observe instead of engage. I'm going to need more boundaries/know the boundaries of this. I'm going to watch instead of engage even though I can feel my creativity bubbling.

Forth Color Environment Variable = Mountains (circumstance)

Optimal Expression - Elevated, Perspective, Space, Breathe, Expansion, Retreat, Sensitive

Fourth Color Variable Transference = Caves

Transferred Expression = I need to feel more safety. This is foundational and provides me certainty, security. This seems to be the safe, easiest and basics. path forward. I know this closes me off to this other stuff but it gives me certainty even if that's not how I would do it normally. I'm sensitive to the fact this is foundational and it's not time for my perspective.

Fifth Color Environment Variable = Valleys (circumstance)

Optimal Expression - Plugged in, Intimacy, Exchange, Connection, Frequency, Resources

Fifth Color Variable Transference = Markets

Transferred Expression = I need to leave my options opens so I don't have to commit to anything. I'm comfortable here and it doesn't require me to take any risks. I'm selective about who comes into my world. This doesn't sound good but I'll stick with it because it gives me options.

Sixth Color Environment Variable = Shores (circumstance)

Optimal Expression - Horizon, Boundaries, Thresholds, Water, This AND THAT, Space Between

Fifth Color Variable Transference = Kitchens

Transferred Expression = I need to get my hands in where the transformation is happening. Forcing Creativity, alchemy and evolution. I can't work if I don't have different places for different tasks. I need to put my unique touch on this. I'm not doing both of this these things only this OR that.

This is just a sampling of the synthesis that I have developed around the color and variable levels in human design. For the last several years, I have woven this into my approach and have continued to develop out the synthesis.

I have been spent a large portion of this year building out the curriculum around the variables, integration and regulation activities for my HD Wild and their clients as well as those inside of HD Your Biz. The results have been astounding.

People are recognizing when there is a flag on the filed of their life and they are in transference with an activated nervous system and are learning to SLOW down instead of push ahead. They are learning to resource themselves and embody more of their design. They are coming back to life in high defeintion because they can see with more speed that they are out of whack and aren't making decisions from an activited state. This is only the beginning of this work that I am going to unleash in the world.
